O tidings of comfort and joy
1
God rest you
Merry gentlemen, Let nothing you dismay
Remember Christ
our Savior was born on Christmas day
To save us
all from Satan’s power when we were gone a stay
O tidings of comfort and joy
Comfort and joy (2)
2
From God our
heavenly Father a blessed angel came
And unto
certain shepherds brought tidings of the same
How that in
Bethlehem was born The Son of God by name
3
“Fear not,
then”, said the angel Let nothing you afraid
This day is
born a Savior of a pure virgin bright
To free all
those who trust in him from Satan’s power and might
4
Now to the
Lord sing praises, All you within this place
And with
true love and brotherhood each other now embrace
This holy
tide of Christmas All others both deface
